From the Rangers front office --
In a recent desicion to improve there pitching the Rangers kept extremely active during the off-season.They traded fan favorite Michael Young to the Pirates for stud Oliver Perez and Scott Strickland.A few days after that they packaged Kevin Millwood and Oliver Perez to the Cardinals for ace Mark Mulder and Jeff Suppan.The Yankees also were active trading partners with the Rangers.The Rangers sent Trot Nixon,Phil Nevin,Vicente Padilla,Mark DeRosa and a minor leaguer to the Yankees for Hideki Matsui,Chien Ming Wang,Robinson Cano and future ace Philip Hughes.They also accquired CF Juan Pierre to help steal some bases and provide a good glove.With these recent fluery of moves many experts now beleive the Rangers can contend in the AL.
