It seems like the theme in Devil Ray camp is "win now", and it's stays true with this blockbuster trade. The Devil Rays ship young stud Carl Crawford, veteran Julio Lugo and slugger aubry huff in return for SS Miguel Tejada, Catcher Javy Lopez and Prospect Lambert who could start in the long relief role.
Only time will tell who got the better end of the deal, B.J. Upton is certainly pleased with the deal, "I love the trade, Miggy will be a great asset to this organization, and it's a plus that I'll get to play in the infield this year!"
With the move, B.J. Upton will go back to his 3B role, Tejada, of course is going to fill the SS position, while Rocko Baldelli and Joey Gathright fight over the rights of who plays CF or RF.
