so we all know the Twins are mediocore.Nothing more, nothing less. After reading the Blue Jays GM talk about the Twins I couldnt beleive it.There hitting is just awful, even though I was already aware. So I said if I traded Santana I could get a SP back and a hitter. So I thought to myself where could I send Santana and old overpaid Radke.I looked no further then the Cleveland Indians.
I dealt Johan Santana98 Brad Radke82 Carlos Silva72 for Cliff Lee 85 C.C. Sabathia86 and Jhonny Peralta77.Of course I got 2 aces for the price of one.and a better SS.
So since I got Peralta I needed to deal Vice.So I said what teams like mediocore players.Instantly the Braves came to mind.
I dealt Torri Hunter,Lew Ford and Gary Vice for Andruw Jones and 2 prospects.Hunter who is the team leader every yr in HRs with around 15 Lew Ford whos contract expired and wanted alot of money and Vice I had no use for for a top hitter, and 2 good prospects.
and then I went into FA and I said what would the real Twins owner do?He would obviously let all the good FAs go and sign mediocore ones.So I got Frank Thomas who ive signed in every dynasty and got a good 35 HRs for me each year.
New and Improved Twins Lineup
1.Luis Castillo 2B 2.Jhonny Peralta SS 3.Andruw Jones CF 4.Frank Thomas DH 5.Justin Morneau 1B (didnt want to stick to many R and L hitters together) 6.Rondell White LF 7.Joe Mauer C 8.Shannon Stewart RF 9.Mike Cuddyer 3B
Pitching Staff
1.C.C Sabathia 2.Cliff Lee 3.Jessie Crain 4.Francisco Liriano 5.Kyle Lohse
a rotation with 3 lefties and 2 righties.
Bullpen remained close to the same.
and there you have it.

Injuries hit hard.I lost Frank Thomas and Mike Cuddyer for the majority of the season. Both were playing real good.I kept losing Rondell White. And in the middle of June Sabathia and Lee were 16-2 while the rest of my rotation was like 5-15. Im starting to play better but those injuries fucked me over.
Just got Miguel Cabrera for Frank Thomas and Joe Mauer.Good deal I think.
I also signed Mike Piazza to replace Mauer for this season.

Simmed the rest of the season.Finished 70-92.Injuries fucked me over.I had 5 guys from my starting lineup out at once for about 10 days one time.Cliff Lee went 22-5

But the difference between you and I. You're a Yankees fan. You don't have the patience to watch your players progress, you trade and sign FA's like crazy. I'm doing it the way the Twins would do it (add a lil more transactions though). You're doing it the way George Steinbrunner (sp?) would do it.

lately, the Yankees have relied on there farm team to win.Cano and Wang were a big part of our team last year and we have an ace named Philip Hughes who completely dominated in ST.Jeter,Rivera,Bernie,Pettitte,Posada were all big parts of our 98-00 run.You know where they came from?our farm team.Alot of ppl assume we buy all our players but when right now,4/9 of our lineup was once in our farm. The only reason we have a high payroll is because these guys develop into superstars. We also trading Alfonso Soriano, another farm product for A-Rod.The Redsox I dont think even have 2 guys in there starting lineup that came thru there farm.Or the Blue Jays for that matter neither. Our farm has been successful and we go into the season wanting to win it all,not hoping for a .500 record like the Twins.

True...so true. You have had some people in your farm. I would continue, but I have to focus on the Real World..like you are. But I have to say one thing before I focus in on that. If this was a serious comment. You should stop watching / paying attention to sports. If you think any team comes into the season not wanting to win it all, you are the stupidest human alive. The Twins, Royals, Marlins, Rockies, ALL go into the season wanting to win it all, and thinking they will win it all. Every team THINKS they will win it all, but analysts and fans think that they will suck if they have a bad team, so other people think that, that team thinks they'll suck. It's confusing, and i could word it better if I tried probably, but i'm too busy to right now.

All of them would like to win it all but shitty teams like the Royals,Marlins and O's set goals like to get to .500.Everytime sets goals for themselfs each year.1 yr to get to .500 next yr to win division and on and on.They set realisitic goals. They build off there goals.Going thru the Bosox lineup I dont think they got noone in there farm in there lineup C-Jason Varitek accquired in trade 1B-David Ortiz twins 2B-Mark Loretta trade with Padres SS-Alex Gonzalez FA 3B-Mike Lowell trade LF-Manny Ramirez FA CF-Coco Crisp trade RF-Trot Nixon accquired in same deal as Varitek

Jul 31, 1997: Seattle Mariners traded Derek Lowe and Jason Varitek to the Boston Red Sox for Heathcliff Slocumb.
It was Derek Lowe.
